Tuesday will start off mostly sunny, but the weather will begin to change in the afternoon. Localized rainfall is possible in the Troodos Mountains, inland, and in the north. Temperatures in Nicosia and other inland locations will rise to around 33°C.
There will be a greater chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms on Wednesday and Thursday. These showers are expected to occur primarily in the mountains and the eastern part of the island. Friday will see a return to mostly sunny weather.

Where can it rain on Tuesday?
Tuesday, September 22, will start the day mostly sunny, with occasional patches of cloud cover along the coast.
As the day progresses, cloud cover will begin to increase. Isolated showers are forecast for the mountains, interior of the island, and the north in the afternoon. Rain will be localized and will not affect all towns.
There may be a brief shower in one part of the island, while several kilometres away it will still be dry and sunny.
The temperature will rise to 33°C
Despite the possibility of rain, no significant cooling is expected. Temperatures will remain close to average values for the end of September.
On Tuesday, thermometers will show approximately:
- 33°C in the interior of the island,
- 29°C on the west coast,
- 31°C on the remaining sections of the coast,
- 23°C in the highest parts of Troodos.
The wind will initially be light, mainly southeasterly or southwesterly, with a force of around 3 on the Beaufort scale.
Later, it will shift to the southwest or northwest, reaching 3-4 degrees Celsius in some areas. On the south coast, it may periodically rise to 4-5 degrees Celsius. The sea will be calm to slightly rough.
A cooler night in the mountains
The weather will begin to improve in the evening. It will be mostly clear overnight, although there may be occasional pockets of cloud in the west.
The temperature will drop to approximately:
- 18°C in the interior of the island,
- 20°C on the coast,
- 13°C in the highest parts of the mountains.
The wind will be mainly northwesterly, light to moderate at times. The sea will remain calm or slightly rough.

Thunderstorms possible on Wednesday and Thursday
On Wednesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 24, the first part of the day should be mostly sunny. However, some clouds will begin to develop in the afternoon.
These may bring isolated showers and even thunderstorms in some areas. The highest probability of such phenomena is in the Troodos Mountains and the eastern half of the island.
This doesn't mean hours of rain will cover the entire island of Cyprus. Thunderstorms and rain will be localized, and their exact location may be difficult to predict well in advance.
The sun will return on Friday
On Friday, September 25, the weather is expected to be mostly sunny again. Temperatures will not change significantly and will remain close to average values for this part of September.
Those planning a trip to the mountains on Wednesday or Thursday should check the forecast immediately before departure. Local rain may make mountain roads slippery, and visibility can deteriorate quickly during a storm.
