Residents waste an average of nearly 50 minutes a day traveling to and from work or school. The latest data shows that cars remain by far the most popular mode of transportation, with buses still being used by a small percentage.

According to data from the Numbeo platform, the average one-way journey time is around 25 minutes. This means that daily commutes take an average of nearly an hour.

The car remains the primary means of transport

The private car is by far the most frequently chosen means of transportation.

According to Numbeo data, approximately 67 percent of people uses a car for daily trips to work or school.

Public transport remains much less popular. Buses are used by approximately 5 percent of the population covered by the study.

Other people use, among other things, walking, remote working or other forms of transport.

The biggest cities mean longer daily journeys

Commuting time is particularly noticeable in larger centers where workplaces, schools and offices are concentrated.

For many residents, this means traveling longer distances between home and work each day, especially if they live outside city centers.
