What can you bring from Poland to Cyprus?

Travel from Poland to Cyprus takes place within the European Union, so the rules for transporting personal belongings are simpler than when traveling from outside the EU.

Most products can be transported for personal use, but specific quantity limits apply to alcohol and tobacco products. It's also important that the goods transported do not indicate commercial activity.

Food from Poland

You can bring to Cyprus for your own use, among others:

• sweets,
• coffee and tea,
• spices,
• dry products,
• packaged food,
• regional food products.

If there are a larger number of the same products, the services can check whether they are actually intended for private use.

Alcohol – intra-EU limits

When traveling between European Union countries, you can transport alcohol for personal use. The approximate thresholds at which authorities may consider the transport to be private are:

• 10 liters spirits,
• 20 liters fortified wines,
• 90 liters fault,
• 110 liters beer.

Exceeding these quantities does not automatically mean a transport ban, but may require an explanation of the purpose of the purchase.

Cigarettes and tobacco products

In the case of tobacco products, the rule is that they are intended for personal use.

The approximate limits for travel within the European Union are:

• 800 cigarettes,
• 400 cigarillos,
• 200 cigars,
• 1 kg of tobacco.

Medicines, cosmetics and personal items

When traveling, you can carry medications for your own use, cosmetics, clothes, electronics and other personal items.

In the case of medications requiring a prescription in larger quantities, it is worth having a document confirming their use.

The same rules also apply when returning to Poland.

The rules for transporting products also apply in the opposite direction - when traveling from Cyprus to Poland.

Since both countries are members of the European Union, the transport of alcohol, tobacco products and other products for personal use is carried out in accordance with the rules on the movement of goods between Member States.

Beware of goods purchased in occupied territories

People visiting the northern, occupied part of the island should remember that products purchased in this area are not treated the same as regular purchases made in a European Union country.

Goods transported through checkpoints from the occupied areas to the south are subject to separate rules for items such as food, alcohol, tobacco and other products.
