52 186 – primary schools
8919 – first-graders
14 398 – kindergartens
113 014 – in total in the groups mentioned

Over 41,000 students in secondary schools

In general secondary schools it is to be taught 41,280 people.

Of this:

  • 23 270 – in junior high schools,
  • 17 710 – in high schools,
  • 300 – in evening schools.

The system is expected to operate approximately 7,200 general secondary school teachers.

KYPE also lists 108 day schools: 62 middle schools, 36 high schools, and 10 six-year schools. Five evening schools are also reported to operate separately. This explains the apparent discrepancy in the published data, which lists five evening schools alongside the 108.

Over 52,000 primary school students

An even larger group will begin classes on September 14.

IN 328 primary schools he has to learn 52,186 children, of which 8919 will start school for the first time.

In 274 public kindergartens there will be 14,398 children.

5,232 teachers are to be employed in primary schools and 1,135 in kindergartens.

Interestingly, the number of primary school students is growing. In the 2025/26 school year, there were 50,932 of them, an increase of approximately 1250 less than now. The year before, 14,026 children were studying in kindergartens.

Over 5,000 technical school students

Secondary technical and vocational education includes the following 5150 students.

The system includes 11 TЕSEK technical and vocational schools, five schools combining high school and technical education, and six evening technical schools. Programs also operate in special schools and a school operating at the prison.

If we add up the numbers provided by KYPE for public kindergartens, elementary schools, general secondary schools and technical schools, we get 113,014 children and students.
