Who can apply for a passport?
Polish citizens staying in Cyprus who have a valid identity document may apply for a Polish passport in Nicosia.
Before submitting an application, you must schedule an appointment with the consulate. Without prior registration, the office will not accept documents.

How long is a passport valid for?
The validity period of the document depends on the age of its owner.
- 5 years – for children up to 13 years of age,
- 10 years – for persons over 13 years of age.
The Polish passport contains a microchip with biometric data, including facial image and fingerprints.
When can you get a temporary passport?
A temporary passport is issued in certain cases, including:
- while waiting for a standard passport to be issued,
- in order to return to the place of permanent residence,

A temporary passport is valid for the period specified in the document, but no longer than 12 months. It does not contain biometric data.

What documents are needed?
To submit an application, please prepare:
- valid passport or ID card,
- a document confirming Polish citizenship, if the applicant has never had Polish documents before,
- completed application form,
- one current passport photo measuring 35 × 45 mm,
- a document confirming the right to relief, if applicable.
When submitting the application, you must also present your current passport, even if it has expired.
Where to pick up your ready passport?
The finished document is collected at the same consulate where the application was submitted.
It is not possible to submit an application in Poland and collect the passport in Nicosia or vice versa.
