Limassol Wine Festival 2026. Nine evenings of wine, music and tradition

One of the biggest events in Cyprus will start on September 26. Limassol Wine Festival 2026 will last nine evenings, during which the Municipal Gardens will be filled with local wines, music, Cypriot food and demonstrations of traditional crafts.

The event runs until October 4th. The gardens will be open daily from 7:00 PM to midnight. Admission is €5 for adults, and €3 for children aged 13 to 17. Children under 12 are admitted free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Limassol Wine Festival 2026 from September 26

The festival will traditionally take place at the Limassol Municipal Gardens, located on the city's seafront. The official opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 26, at 8:00 PM.

One of the symbols of the event will once again be the enormous statue of Vraki, depicting a Cypriot winemaker in traditional garb. This figure has greeted attendees for decades and has become one of the festival's most recognizable features.

This year, a moving version will also be available. A stilt walker dressed as Vraki will stroll through the gardens and take photos with visitors.

Wine tastings and additional fees

According to the organizer's detailed program, wine tastings will take place daily from 7:30 PM to 10:00 PM at the stands of participating wineries. Both large Cypriot producers and smaller local wineries will participate in the event.

The list includes, among others, KEO – Mallia Winery, LOEL, SODAP – Kamanterena Winery, Zambartas, Vlassides, Tsiakkas, Nelion, Ezousa, Agia Mavri and Vasilikon.

The admission ticket does not include tasting glasses. A plastic wine bottle costs €1.50, a standard glass also €1.50, and a stemmed glass €2.50.

The holder of an adult ticket will also receive a 20 percent discount on the purchase of one bottle of wine at four selected wineries: Mallia belonging to KEO, Kamanterena belonging to SODAP, Nelion and LOEL.

The gardens will also feature restaurants and taverns offering Cypriot dishes and live music.

The most important concerts of the Wine Festival

The 2026 Limassol Wine Festival isn't limited to tastings. Each evening, concerts, theater performances, dance performances, and folkloric events will take place on several stages.

On the first evening, audiences will enjoy a magic show by the Liotatis family. Next, Stefanos Pelekanis will present a program based on traditional and contemporary Cypriot pieces.

In the following days, the main stage will feature, among others:

• Giota Negka – September 28,
• Konstantinos Christoforou and the ONE team – September 30,
• Sofia Papazoglou and Babis Tsertos – October 1,
• Maria Kilaidoni and Doros Demosthenous – October 3.

The program also includes Cypriot theatrical comedies, performances by folk groups, Cretan music and concerts held at the stands and in the festival taverns.

Palouzes will be created before the eyes of visitors

On Sundays, September 27 and October 4, palouzes preparation demonstrations will be held behind the Vraka statue.

Palouzes is a traditional Cypriot dessert made from grape must thickened with flour. It can be served warm or after it has cooled and set.

The show will remind us that the festival is not only an opportunity to taste wine, but also an event dedicated to the culture of grape harvesting and traditional ways of using grapes.

The program will be complemented by a photography exhibition and an exhibition of wine-related caricatures.

Attractions for children

Behind the Vraka statue, a separate area for children will be created. Among other activities, pottery workshops and creative activities are planned there.

Children will be able to make wooden figurines and magnets representing Vraks. Subsequent evenings will also feature traditional shadow puppet performances with Karagiozis and illusionist shows.

The festival can therefore also be a proposition for families who are more interested in concerts, Cypriot food and the evening atmosphere than in tastings.

Free buses from four cities

On selected days, you will be able to reach the Wine Festival by free buses from Nicosia, Larnaca, Ayia Napa and Paphos.

Transport is scheduled for:

• Saturday, September 26,
• Sunday, September 27,
• Friday, October 2,
• Saturday, October 3,
• Sunday, October 4.

Space is limited, so reservations are required. Return buses will depart Limassol at 11:00 PM, one hour before the official end of the festival evening.

One of the biggest holidays in Limassol

The history of the Wine Festival dates back to 1961. Originally intended to promote local producers and the island's wine culture, the event has since grown into one of Cyprus' largest cultural events.

Today, it attracts not only Limassol residents but also visitors from other districts and tourists. It combines tastings, traditional products, concerts, theater, folklore, and attractions for the entire family.

This year's edition will begin on Saturday, September 26th and run until Sunday, October 4th. Organizers reserve the right to change the detailed program.
