Limassol Wine Festival, BEONIX, a three-day celebration in Ayia Napa, Larnaca Beer Festival, Moonwalk in Protaras and Sweet Sunday in Kakopetria. Several major events will take place in Cyprus over the weekend of September 25-27, of which we selected the six most interesting ones.

BEONIX Festival in Limassol

One of the largest electronic music festivals in Cyprus will take place from Friday to Sunday at the former ETKO factory in Limassol.

Over 40 artists will perform on four stages. Among the biggest names at this year's festival are Adam Beyer, Argy, Benny Benassi, CamelPhat, Jan Blomqvist, Monolink, PAN-POT, and Röyksopp.

BEONIX combines concerts with extensive lighting, audiovisual installations and a festival space set within an industrial complex.

Ayia Napa International Festival

From Friday to Sunday, Ayia Napa's central Giorgos Seferis Square will be filled with music, traditional crafts demonstrations and local cuisine.

The 42nd International Festival will feature performances by artists such as Josephine, Kostas Makedonas, and the group Locomondo. The program will showcase contemporary Greek music as well as Cypriot culture and traditions.

This is one of the best free options for people staying in the Famagusta region.

Limassol Wine Festival

It will start on Saturday 65th Limassol Wine FestivalFor nine consecutive evenings, the Municipal Gardens will be a great place to sample Cypriot wines, learn about local traditions, and attend concerts and folklore shows.

The festival grounds will be open daily from 7:00 PM to midnight. The official opening is scheduled for Saturday at 8:00 PM.

An adult ticket costs 5 euros, youth aged 13 to 17 pay 3 euros, while children under 12 years of age enter free of charge when accompanied by an adult.

Larnaca Beer Festival

Zouchouri Square in the historic centre of Larnaca will be transformed into a space with beer, street food and live music for two days.

The second edition of the Larnaca Beer Festival is expected to be larger than last year's debut. Organizers promise a wider selection of draft and craft beers, more food stalls, and an expanded music program.

Admission to the event is free. Food and beverages at the stands will be charged.

Sweet Festival in Kakopetria

On Sunday, Kakopetria will celebrate one of the most characteristic Cypriot traditions – glyko tou koutaliou, i.e. fruits, vegetables and nuts preserved in sweet syrup.

During the event, you'll be able to sample cherries, figs, quinces, green walnuts, watermelon peels, and even small eggplants, among other things. Workshops, crafts, performances, children's activities, and an evening concert by Herodotos Miltiadous are also planned.

Moonwalk in Protaras

The weekend will conclude with one of the most spectacular free music events on the east coast of Cyprus.

During the Moonwalk, more than 130 artists are expected to perform on 31 stages along the six-kilometre seafront promenade between the Agios Nikolaos Chapel in Pernera and Fig Tree Bay in Protaras.

Audiences will be able to stroll between stages and choose from a variety of musical genres. This year's edition has been announced as the "Sunset Edition."

Events in Cyprus this weekend – what to choose?

Those living in Limassol will have the most choice. The BEONIX and Wine Festival will begin there at the same time. In the Larnaca region, a good free option is the Beer Festival, and in Ayia Napa, there's a three-day International Festival.

Families with children can enjoy the all-day festival in Kakopetria, while the Moonwalk is a great option for those who want to end the weekend with a walk and live music by the sea.
