Sebastian Riedel visited Cyprus again. The Dżem singer played two concerts.
Sebastian Riedel returned to Cyprus. In May 2026, the Dżem vocalist arrived on the island with Michał Kielak and Kuba Andrzejewski. The musicians played two intimate concerts – in Ayia Napa and in Chlorakas near Paphos.
This wasn't Riedel's first visit to Cyprus. The musician had performed there before, and for several years his name had appeared at concerts organized for Polish audiences. This time, he returned to the island as the vocalist of one of the most recognizable bands on the Polish rock scene.
Two evenings with Polish blues
The first of this year's concerts took place May 19 in Ayia Napa, at Kota Greek. A day later, on May 20, Riedel, Kielak and Andrzejewski performed at The Local in Chlorakas, near Paphos. Both events began at 7:00 PM. The dates and lineup of the concerts can be found in Michał Kielak's official concert calendar.
These were not concerts by the band Dżem. Sebastian Riedel appeared in Cyprus with a smaller lineup, along with Michał Kielak, one of Poland's most respected blues harmonica players, and guitarist Kuba Andrzejewski.
The intimate format allowed the audience to see the musicians from a completely different perspective than during large festivals or indoor concerts.
He returned to Chloraka after a few years
Interestingly, Sebastian Riedel knows The Local in Chlorace from previous performances.
Already in December 2021, the local calendar of events in the Paphos area announced a concert there Sebastian Riedel and Michał KielakThis year's performance marked a return to a venue where Polish musicians had previously performed several years earlier.
In the archive announcements of Riedel's next concerts in Cyprus, there was even a statement that the artist was visiting the island "once again".
Michał Kielak is no stranger to Cyprus either. His concert archive shows numerous performances on the island, including in Paphos, Latchi, Simou, and Ayia Napa.
Since 2024, he has been singing in Dżem
Today, Sebastian Riedel's position on the Polish music scene is special. On April 6, 2024, he officially became the vocalist of the band Dżem. The group announced his joining in January 2024, announcing the start of cooperation after the end of their concert activities with Maciej Balcar.
Currently, the official Dżem website still lists Sebastian Riedel as the band's vocalist.
It's also a symbolic reference to the group's history. Ryszard Riedel, Sebastian's father, was for years Dżem's most distinctive voice. The band's official history explicitly notes that his son is the current vocalist.
From large stages to intimate concerts in Cyprus
Sebastian Riedel currently performs with Dżem to audiences of thousands. The May concerts in Cyprus had a completely different feel – small venues, close contact with the audience, and a three-piece band.
For Poles living here, it was a rare opportunity to see the current lead singer of Dżem in such an intimate setting. And for Riedel himself, it was another return to the island, where he had performed several years earlier.
The material was prepared based on Michał Kielak's official concert calendar, information from the Dżem band and public announcements of concerts in Cyprus.
