Kwietniewska, Biedrzyńska, and Jaryczewski met on one stage in Cyprus on November 10, 2024. Wanda Kwietniewska, Adrianna Biedrzyńska, and Krzysztof Jaryczewski performed during a Polish community picnic in Episkopi near Limassol. However, the finale brought something unprecedented.

All three of them for the first time in history she performed togetherTogether, they sang "Prywatka," creating a unique finale for the evening. Three very different artistic stories converged: Wanda and Banda, the beginnings of the Closed Department, and Adrianna Biedrzyńska's acting and musical career.

On November 10, 2024, a large meeting of the Polish community took place in Episkopi near Limassol to celebrate National Independence Day.

According to the official summary of the Polish Embassy in Nicosia, the event was attended by approximately a thousand peopleThe meeting began with a sing-along of "Dąbrowski's Mazurka." Students from four Polish schools operating on the island, along with guest artists, then took the stage.

The program featured artists such as Adrianna Biedrzyńska, Wanda Kwietniewska, Krzysztof Jaryczewski, Maciej Kulhawik, and Justyna Zielska. Artists based in Cyprus also performed.

In the evening it was time for concerts.

And it was then that something happened that made the performance in Episkopi special also from the point of view of the artists themselves.

For the first time in history, they sang "Party Party" together.

Wanda Kwietniewska, Adrianna Biedrzyńska and Krzysztof Jaryczewski have decades of presence on the Polish scene behind them.

However, their paths had never crossed in this way before.

Only In Cyprus, all three performed together for the first time in history.

During the joint finale they sang "Party".

This wasn't a reunion of a former project or another performance by a pre-existing lineup. Kwietniewska, Biedrzyńska, and Jaryczewski simply hadn't performed together on stage like this before.

The first time it happened was in Episkopi.

Surviving photos clearly document this moment. Krzysztof Jaryczewski stands center stage with his guitar, while the other artists sing around him.

For the audience it was the finale of the concert.

For these three – first joint performance in history.

Wanda Kwietniewska in Cyprus

Wanda Kwietniewska is one of the most distinctive vocalists of Polish rock and pop-rock of the 1980s.

Early in her career, she was associated with Lombard. Later, she formed her own group, known as Wanda i Banda.

It was with this band that she created songs that can still be heard on Polish radio stations and in concerts. "Hi-Fi," "Nie być Julia," and "Kochaj mnie mnie mnie" remain part of the repertoire associated with her name.

In Episkopi one could see Kwietniewska in very intimate conditions.

There was no big television stage or barrier separating the artist from the audience.

There was a stage, a microphone and Poles living in Cyprus standing a few meters away.

Krzysztof Jaryczewski in Cyprus

Krzysztof "Jary" Jaryczewski brought another part of Polish rock history to Episkopi.

He was the co-founder and first vocalist of Oddział Zamknięty. The band's early years are associated with songs that have become classics of Polish rock music.

“Wake up”, “Ten wasz świat”, “Andzia” and “Party” are songs known even to people who don’t follow the history of Polish rock on a daily basis.

Jaryczewski has continued to perform for years, currently primarily as the leader of Jary Oddział Zamknięty.

He showed up in Cyprus with a guitar.

And it is he who is at the center of one of the best photos taken during the final of the event in Episkopi.

Adrianna Biedrzyńska in Cyprus

Adrianna Biedrzyńska brought yet another artistic story to this set.

Most audiences associate her primarily with acting.

Over the years, she has appeared in films, television series, theater, and television productions. Music has also long been a part of her career.

That is why she did not appear in Episkopi only as a famous actress invited to a Polish event.

She stood in front of the microphone and sang.

She later joined Wanda Kwietniewska, Krzysztof Jaryczewski and other performers during the joint finale.

Thanks to this, a less obvious side of her artistic activity could be seen in Cyprus.

Three careers connected by Cyprus

It is this first joint performance that makes the story of Episkopi more than just information about another famous Pole visiting the island.

Each of these three has performed hundreds of times before.

Each has its own audience, repertoire and completely different career path.

However, it was only here that these paths crossed.

Wanda Kwietniewska, Adrianna Biedrzyńska and Krzysztof Jaryczewski appeared on stage together for the first time in Cyprus.

And the song that brought them together during this historic moment was "Prywatka."

About a thousand Poles in Episkopi

The concert itself was only part of an all-day event.

There were attractions for children, an exhibition dedicated to Melchior Wańkowicz, and a presentation of works by Poles living on the island. Polish food was also available.

Participants could try grilled sausages, pea soup, dumplings, smoked cheeses and doughnuts, among other things.

According to the Polish Embassy in Nicosia, around a thousand people attended the event.

For the Polish diaspora it was a day of common celebration.

For the three invited artists, it became a date that they can also write down in their professional history.

The first performance together took place in Cyprus

Our series has already featured very different connections between famous Poles and the island.

Some came here for vacation. Others filmed music videos. Still others attended concerts and events organized for the Polish diaspora.

However, the story of Kwietniewska, Biedrzyńska and Jaryczewski has an additional element.

Cyprus wasn't just the venue for another concert.

It became a place their first performance together.

After decades of separate careers, they met on stage in the small town of Episkopi near Limassol and performed "Prywatka" together.

And the photos from that evening document a moment that simply had never happened before in the history of these three.
