LOT Luggage: Dimensions, Limits and Fees
Check hand and checked baggage limits and the rules for transporting suitcases during a transfer in Warsaw.

In LOT economy class, you can take one suitcase with maximum dimensions of 55 × 40 × 23 cm and a weight of up to 8 kg into the cabin. In addition, a small personal item up to 40 × 35 × 12 cm and 2 kg is allowed.
Checked baggage allowances vary by fare. On European routes, Economy Saver does not include a checked bag, while Economy Standard and Flex include one checked bag up to 23 kg.

Transfer in Warsaw: the suitcase flies to the final airport

If your entire journey is on a single ticket and sections are checked in to your final destination, you only need to check in your checked baggage once. If you're flying from Larnaca via Warsaw, you'll only collect your baggage at your final destination in Poland, such as Krakow, Gdansk, Szczecin, or Zielona Góra.
It works the same way the other way around: you normally pick up a suitcase checked in at a regional airport in Poland only in Larnaca, without having to pick it up during a transfer in Warsaw.
Check your tag at check-in: It should include the destination airport code, e.g., LCA, KRK, GDN, SZZ, or IEG. If you have separate tickets or in exceptional circumstances, it may be necessary to collect and re-check your baggage.

Suitcase dimensions: The total height, width, and depth of a single piece of checked baggage cannot exceed 158 cm. However, the most important thing is the information on the ticket, as the limits depend on the tariff and the carrier operating the given route.

The price is not fixed: it depends on, among other things, the route, date, selected option and when you purchase additional luggage.

Measure and weigh your suitcase
Luggage that does not meet the limits may be rejected at the gate or directed to the hold for a fee.

Child's luggage and baby equipment
A child up to 2 years of age is entitled to hand luggage. 55 × 40 × 23 cm up to 8 kg, personal item 40 × 35 × 12 cm up to 2 kg and an additional bag with essentials. Non-Economy Saver fares also include checked baggage allowances of up to 23 kg. Children over 2 years of age have the same allowance as adults in the relevant class. LOT terms and conditions also allow for the carriage of a foldable stroller or car seat.

What happens if the luggage is too big?
If your bag does not fit within the baggage allowance, it may be rejected at the gate or, where possible, directed to the hold for an additional fee.
Can I combine checked baggage allowances?
Don't assume that one heavier suitcase can replace multiple purchased items. Pack within the allowance assigned to each suitcase and the terms of your booking.
